Giants of Mont’e Prama

The Giants of Mont’e Prama are the most ancient anthropomorphic stone statues of the Mediterranen created by the Nuragic Civilization.
They were found in the Seventies in a land called Mont’e Prama near the little village of Cabras, only 15 minutes from Is Cheas. The 38 statues represent heroic warrios, archers and boxers.
Archaelogists believe Mont’e Prama to be a site for the celebration of a Nuragic aristocratic elite and their heroic warriors. The strategic location of the complex and the position of the warriors’ statues seem aimed at striking fear in the invaders and at affirming their dominion over the territory.
